Life Without Limitation

Life without Limitation

Ephesians 3:20-21 (AMP) Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.

When the New Year rolled around this year, it was not met with the same enthusiasm that it usually is for me. I love the calendar roll of fresh pages with new days filled with opportunity and potential. There would be no resolutions. I didn’t join the gym. This is not the norm for me. It immediately caused a gut check. We did not do the Daniel Fast. Oh my goodness, I can hear the huge intake of breath of those who engage it religiously since it became a “thing” in the church. The one thing I did do was put Ephesians 3:20 on the “wallpaper” of my phone so every time I pick it up – it illuminates before me. It must be the Holy Spirit who picked the verse because I have no idea why or how it became the verse for 2017 – but it is.

I will try to say this as gently as possible and it is a truth that many church folks have a really difficult time understanding or even agreeing with but when our relationship becomes traditional, routine driven, and a habit it is in danger of becoming religious versus relational. My relationship with Jesus Christ is not regulated or ruled by the things that I do or do not do but completely and 100% reliant on His Grace and my ability to accept His Love and Mercy each day. Nothing I do is worthy of all that He has done for me. However, what I have finally decided in this third month of the year is that my life has been limited. There are some areas of my existence that I have not fully committed and entrusted to Jesus Christ. Oh please, don’t judge me or decide that I have some big secret. We all have hidden areas and secret places of limitation in our heart and mind when it comes to the love and power of Jesus Christ for our life. Otherwise, every church including every member would be experiencing resurrection power, miracles, signs and wonders in every facet of their life. There is always more of Him for the part of me that is willing to bow down and give Jesus His Rightful Place.

Bear with me today, as I believe this Word is for me. I hope that as I share it transparently it will illuminate an area of limitation in your life so that the Love of God will bust through it and an outpouring of His Power will manifest in your new life in Christ. I think sometimes we expect our life in Christ to be like a bottle of carbonated soda. Sometimes it is, we get shaken up real good and explode for the moment but then the next day life is flat and tasteless. God has given us living water to flow through us. Have you ever shaken up a water bottle? Yep, nothing. It doesn’t get all worked up and shoot out of the bottle everywhere. It also doesn’t make a mess either. Water is consistently pure. It is always the same. You can only adjust the temperature but other than that it is committed to consistency. Maybe that is what this year is doing in me, removing some of the emotion and enthusiastic zeal to be replaced by a supernatural and miraculous life of confident hope that leads to consistent superabundance in my life. Lord, be it unto me.

To elaborate:

Ephesians 3:14-19 (AMP) For this reason [grasping the greatness of this plan by which Jews and Gentiles are joined together in Christ] I bow my knees [in reverence] before the Father [of our Lord Jesus Christ], from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name [God—the first and ultimate Father]. May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].

My daughters and I were discussing an upcoming youth challenge posed by their youth pastor. They will be instructed regarding sharing their testimony and then given the opportunity to do so at the local Wal-Mart. My girls do not know a life outside of church or belief in Jesus Christ. They were born in church, taken to church, drug to church and now go to church their whole life. One of them confided that she doesn’t remember a time of not knowing Jesus – praise God. My heart as a mother is full. However, when it comes to sharing her life with others. What will she tell them? She has little to no experience to compare her new life to her old life to. She has been saved and baptized. It is all that she knows. Jesus Christ is a reality not a revelation to her. Our youngest daughter concurred that she knows she asked Jesus to be her Savior and Lord on my birthday when she was very young. She knows what it means to be saved. She understands the Holy Spirit but giving such a message to someone who has experienced something completely different seems to be impossible to them. All three of our girls have been challenged when engaging with others who have lived a different life with very different experiences.

Let’s flip the script for a moment, I have experienced life from a different perspective. I know what lost looks like. I have traveled the wilderness. I have made countless mistakes that were once regrets until redeemed by the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ was fully accepted. I have had the opportunity to share my experience with many people and it is easy. I have experienced Jesus Christ and His Power in my life so I know it is real and valid. The more that we experience the Love of God fully consummated in our life by faith and confident hope that produces supernatural and extraordinary details the easier it is to share this Gospel and be a light to the world. This is and always will be part of our purpose and calling in this world to share a real God and relevant Jesus to the lost and dying in darkness.

I must experience God at every level and Christ completely through me to be a relevant and accurate witness. To be the kind of Christian who is ready in season and out of season to share the Message of God’s Great Love. My relationship with Jesus Christ must be real. It cannot be a routine that I follow or rules that I adhere to. It must be a transparent open book that all can read and understand. It is a love story. It is a miraculous account of a limited life that became filled with unlimited power. My life must live it out to make it a best-seller sought after by others on display for all to see.

For this reason [grasping the greatness of this plan by which Jews and Gentiles are joined together in Christ] I bow my knees [in reverence] before the Father [of our Lord Jesus Christ],” The purpose for my existence and the reason I am alive is to be a Child of God. To come back to the Father by Way of Jesus Christ and take my place in God’s Family once again. His Grace is more than sufficient for me. How many times though have I ignored the Grace of God thinking that the Lord was calling me to be the strong one? Do be the good person? To be a God-Like Christian rather than a godly woman transmitting God’s Love, Grace and Mercy as it filters through me. See I can pretend like I have it all together, like there are no cares in my world. I can attempt to make it look like I make no mistakes and live a holier-than-thou life. The reality is I am a broken person who Jesus sparked a love affair with and the more I love and trust Him – the more I find that the Light of His Love is revealed through the cracked parts of my life rather than in any religious act I have participated in. God doesn’t need me but I must have Him. For this reason…grasping the greatness of His Plan. (Ephesians 3:14)

It is simple. Really simple. Jeremiah 29:1-13 is the description of this plan, however; the one that makes the difference is this – “The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8) The beginning of an unlimited life starts with three basic steps – “Repentance. Restoration. Revival.” How did I get that from this verse? I must repent and live in love with Jesus. My love for Him alone will produce the right results. Restoration is the family reunion that causes the Love that Jesus gives me, to be reciprocated in life with others who I do not judge but choose to embrace for mercy’s sake. Finally, revival for those who choose to walk with God is to become His Children and establish our birthright again. We have a new life. It is in us and flows from us. Everywhere we walk in step with the Father has the potential of resurrection life. I am only limited by unwillingness to humble my life and follow the Lord.

Where do you walk? Following Jesus is to allow the Greater that is in you to have priority over the less that tends to drive us. Our daughters don’t know a life outside of Jesus Christ because Christ has been in their life always. What if we made it a point to include Jesus in every facet of our life? If every step had purpose and every work of the hand committed to the Lord, I am not talking about selfless martyrdom but to say, “Jesus come with me to work. Lord, have your way in my commute.” Holy Spirit fill the walls of our home. God put your hand on our bank account.” It is in Him we live, move, breathe and exist according to the Word of God. (Acts 17:28) Or do we? Have you ever said, “It is what it is”? What about calling those things into existence that are in Heaven for now? How about “it’s just who I am”? Where is the new creation? The limitations on my life are self-imposed. I have resurrection life and power inside of me applicable to every single step that I take in this life all the way to eternity. I must learn to walk like Enoch who disappeared in the Presence of the Lord.

From whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name [God—the first and ultimate Father]. Having earthly fathers who may or may not have participated in our life creates a false perception of fatherhood when it comes to our Heavenly Father. We place human expectations on a flawless Father based on the unmet expectations of flawed fathers. I have a great dad. He is a good father yet he still makes mistakes and is imperfect. I trust him yet I trust God more. I love and honor my earthly father but I relentlessly pursue right-standing with God my Father. It is absolutely imperative that we come to know, understand, believe and ultimately choose to trust the perfection of God our Father. He is awesomely wonderful. His Love is absolutely without condition. He is wonderful! He is awesome! God is everything our natural father’s wanted to be and even strive to become – God is all that and more. To access Him by Way of Jesus Christ and live in His Presence is absolute proof of belief. Faith must be evidenced by trust. Do you trust God today? Do you really trust Him? If you do, then your life will become supernatural. You will not experience fear, worry, care, anxiety or doubt when it comes to any and all lifetime situations. His Power will be manifested in you. If you do fear, worry, feel anxious or doubt, hang on…there is more.

“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]…” Grace is defined as God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense. God is ready to grant you the riches of His Glory. It is not to His Glory that His Children eat from the scraps beneath the table but sit and share meals with Him. To commune with Him. Stop it. Don’t think about communion with a tiny juice cup and sliver of a horrible tasting wafer. No, God wants to prepare a table in the presence of your enemies and demonstrate the extravagance of His Great Love. We are too busy fighting defeated foes than celebrating His Victory. God wants to live your life with you. He wants His Power to manifest His Presence in EVERY SINGLE AREA, EVERY SINGLE DAY WITHOUT A SINGLE EXCEPTION. All caps. Yes, I am shouting at you. Every area of our life should be according to His Riches in Glory. From the inside out, as our soul prospers our health, finances, influence and favor will, too. Where we sow the Word in our life, we will reap every blessing, promise and benefit it contains. The problem is not in God’s Capacity to love and care for us but in our ability to comprehend His Love. It is unlimited. Unlimited means not limited, unrestricted, and unconfined. It is boundless, infinite and vast. God’s love is unlimited and without qualification, exception and unconditional. God loves you period. The only way to perceive the boundaries (or lack there of) of God’s Love is to attempt to find them. The more I engage in grounding and rooting my faith in the Love of God demonstrated in Jesus Christ the less I will worry about the problems, situations, conditions and inconveniences of this life highly anticipating what God will do as He works good out of every detail. (Romans 8:28) God is perfecting all that concerns His Children. (Psalm 138:8) When I yoke my life to Christ and He goes where I go and I go where He goes, it will always challenge me to go deeper in God’s Presence and push the boundaries of His Love.

And [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].” God’s Love increases the capacity of my life. If I choose to engage in this love affair with Jesus “practically” through personal experience suddenly the God of my ancestors becomes My Lord, My God. We have not because we ask not. We do not believe that God’s Love is for us. The miracles of old are relevant. God’s Word is not logical outside of faith. But with faith all things impossible are now probable. The God of after life must be the God of our natural life, too. The Goodness of God is for the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13) His Unfailing Love, His Mercy when I mess up and Goodness pursues me when? All the days of my life… (Psalm 23:6) All these words found in the Word are empowered by faith in the Word wrapped in flesh – Jesus Christ. They leap to life off the pages when faith is applied. Confident hope releases resurrection power now rather than reserving it for later. Rather than the mentality of “Jesus if you had been here” – we live because Jesus is here with us and in us. I am challenged to release all limitation in my life today by applying God’s Word by faith and believing God at His Word for EVERY area of my life not just those defined by desperation or hinting of death. To make God’s Word the reality that I experience every single day in every single way. This will be the fuel that sets the Light of my life from a small candle flickering in the wind to an all-consuming fire that drives darkness away. I am called to be the Light of the World. It’s time to light this baby up.

The Fullness of God. What does it look like? Is your life extraordinary? Have you experienced moves and waves of God unexplainable naturally but supernaturally defined? If not, you will. If you decide that God’s Love is definitely for you. If you desire it enough to pursue it, yoking your life to Jesus Christ. You will find His Plan, His Purpose and yes, even His Prosperity in every single element of your life. He is a Good Father. Do not sell your birthright for a single meal like Esau. Esau had a vast inheritance. He gave it all up to satisfy a hunger that was temporary. Hear me today as God is speaking to me, I believe He is saying it to you, “Stop settling.” Just because you don’t deserve the current blessings and benefits of God already proven in your life. Just because it is hard to believe God would do more and more when you realize you cannot stop doing what you do – choose to believe anyway. God is ready to do more than you can think or ask, dream or desire – all you must do is choose to accept His Love. (Period.) When I married my husband, there were things that immediately changed. I desired no one else. I pursued no one else. I wanted only to be His Wife forever. Over the years, there are things that we both have changed and grown in to maintain our relationship, He has never forced me to but I choose to because I love him. I want to be his wife. I want a strong marriage that lasts until death do us part. It is by choice. Love is a choice. To choose Jesus as our Savior and make Him Lord is a love choice. It is not by force. With this in mind, Jesus is not going to force you to live in His Presence or take everything He offers you as a part of your partnership. You have to want it, accept it, apply it and desire it, too. We have hidden potential, purpose and promise that only God can bring to pass. My life is unlimited unless I impose limits marked by disbelief, doubt and other desires.

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.

So back to my verse for 2017, I believe for me that the Lord is pressing me to start believing practically for the superabundance in all areas of my life not just the impossible ones. I know that God is a healer. I know that He gives us the desires of our heart. I have experienced God in so many ways that my life is far more blessed than I ever thought possible. I cannot stop here and have the fullness of God intended for my life. I must continue to press the boundaries of my belief and label each step with purpose as I walk through life until I disappear and all people see is the Christ in me. The life of Enoch is the life for me. When God’s Glory surrounds us completely and all people see when they see us is Light. Light of Love too amazing to not engage in. To complete to not step into. To real to ever forget. Life without limitation. This is the life for me.

Acts 17:26-28 (AMP) And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’

Death of Me

death-of-me

Matthew 17:20 (NIV) He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Our youngest came to me the other night and asked to use the computer in my office. “Of course, you can.” I replied then inquiring what she would be doing. She then said three of the most dreaded words in the vocabulary of all school age mothers – I working on my “science fair project”. Cue in the horror movie music played during the climax just before the villain attacks. I asked no more – I have learned over the years. She disappeared into the office to begin the daunting task of finding a topic to test even though it really holds no real significance but teaches kids (and unsuspecting parents) about problem solving. Our oldest son is 26 years old. The one thing I will not miss about grade school is science fair projects. Can I get an “amen”?

The basic steps of a science fair project include a question, research plan, finding information and constructing a hypothesis. Using these steps, the student tests the hypothesis by doing an experiment, analyzing data, drawing a conclusion, and communicating the results. This is called the scientific method. Experiments determine cause and effect. Cause and effect relationships explain why things happen and allow us to reliably predict what will happen if you do something. In each experiment, there are variables. The independent variable is the one that is changed by the one who is conducting the study. The dependent variables are those things that react and produce a response in the testing. And then there is the constant variable which is the controlled variable. These are the factors that remain the same regardless of the other variables though they may respond differently. Now that you know how to do a science project with its many steps and variables let’s talk about constant.

The word “constant” is important in the life of a believer. God is constant. His Word is constant. His Way is constant. His Character is constant. His Love is constant. What is constant? It means something does not change or vary. It is to continue without pause or let up and is consistent. It is continual and persistent. Constancy means faithful, unswerving in love and devotion. Steadfast. Firm in mind and purpose. Certain. Confident. A constant is something that does not or cannot change of vary. In science, an experiment without a constant will not yield accurate data. A life of faith without a constant God will never yield fruit. Since God is not in question for He does not lie or change His Mind but remains constant. Who is the variable? You got it. It’s me. My love. My faith. My commitment. My ability to trust and yield. If my life does not yield fruit or promise, I am the variable in question.

Mark 4:30-32 (NIV) Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

As God created each human being, He took a little scoop, dipping it in faith, and poured a measure carefully into our heart. It is there for our use and absolute disposal. There are many variables that impact its growth and prosperity but nothing can limit its potential. It belongs to you. It was given to us by our Father to put to good use. Seeds left in packets will never grow roots, come up out of the ground, and produce leaves or fruit. Most will die in dormancy in those packets never having fulfillment of purpose. Seeds need good soil to grow. They must have sunshine and rain. There are many variables to natural and spiritual growth that are often taken for granted in life but essential to it.

A person can eat whatever they want for the first sixty years of their life without any ill effects. One day the same human being will begin to experience some chest pain and shortness of breath. A doctor will diagnose them with coronary artery disease or heart blockages due to a high fat and sodium diet that has impacted their heart. Would they have made better choices given this information sooner? You think you would but probably not. The American Heart Association spends millions and millions of dollars each year to inform people from an early age of the importance of a good nutrition and regular exercise. Most people ignore such information until they are faced with adverse conditions or heart disease.

The Kingdom of God is inside of each person ready to grow into a wonderful relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son. The Word of God promises that all of creation will have the opportunity to experience His Love and make the connection. What are we doing to cultivate the Kingdom in our life? It begins and ends with the mustard seed of faith in each human heart. Unless that seed, grows, takes root, and flourishes – it will die with us one day. The potential in the seed of faith is not limited by the person. A person can stop the potential of a seed by not letting it grow.

Matthew 13:19-23 (NIV) When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Reading the Parable of the Sower today, I feel alone in this place. Like God is the constant and I am the only variable. Sometimes I believe that God isolates us so that it forces us to look at our own heart compared to His Word, His Will and His Way rather than comparing our life to everyone else’s. My life with God is my own journey. The faith that I have been given to cultivate in my life is exclusive to me. No one else can grow my faith though people are often used to test it. Can I get an amen?

The Word of God is the potential of our faith revealed to us. If you can find it in the Bible, it is applicable to your life. God has no favorites. We are all His Favorites. God hates sin. All sin. Since we all need new mercy each day and live only by His Grace through faith, it is important to note that the potential in my seed of faith is the same as yours. The impossible is possible if I can believe. Your impossible is possible if you believe, too. With this in mind, we are all in this together.

God’s Word for our life is constant. When we believe His Word enough to invest our faith in it, it will yield fruit in our life. We will flourish by faith and have branches where others can roost. So let’s talk about the different variables of getting God’s Word and His Kingdom to grow in our life. First there is the seed that falls on hard hearts. It cannot grow because there is no brokenness. A stony heart has no knowledge of God’s Love so His Word is rejected as fiction, folly or false. Evil comes and exchanges truth for a lie. Then there is the Word heard and received with joy but a lack of proper rooting and grounding in the Love of God through Jesus Christ will not allow it to grow. Faith in anything or anyone other than the Lord will not grow anything good in us or through us. Other people hear the Word of God but then become distracted by the natural circumstances, adverse conditions or current situation. Worry produces doubt that chokes out the growing promise making its way from our heart to our head into reality. But the seed that falls on good soil has limitless potential in our life. We must get God’s Word into our heart and cultivate it by faith until it grows.

John 12:23-25 (NIV) Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

I Corinthians 15:36-38 (NIV) How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.

When my husband and I were first married, we began looking to buy a home. Our income was limited. Welcoming a new daughter in the first year, I became a stay-at-home mom. Our agent told us of a foreclosed house that was a good deal and just needed some work. Driving into the driveway, I noticed that although the house was disheveled yet there were flowers lining the flowerbeds in the front yard. On closer inspection, I discovered that they were artificial flowers planted in the ground. I was a bit disappointed. How many times do we put on a happy face when our heart is broken? Or maybe settle for something less because we are tired of waiting on God’s Best? Seeds will produce in time. But it takes time for seeds to produce. They may go through many seasons before fruit will be found on them. One thing that must happen is death to its current form. Are we willing to give up the comfort and control of life as we know it to have the promise of God’s Word achieved by faith? Faith is not in the boat but walking on the water in the midst of a storm. Faith can be misplaced. Even though His Disciples were with the Lord day and night, they still struggled with faithful development. We must be willing to die to self to have the potential of faith produced by God’s Word and His Spirit in our life. We must rely on the constancy of God for fulfillment allowing our flesh to die day by day. Walking by faith and not by sight grows potential and promise in our life. It is the death of me.

I Peter 1:22-23 (NIV) Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (I Corinthians 3:6) The constant and absolute potential of my life is God’s Word and His Promises coming to pass in my life by faith. It will be the death of me to give way to the new life hidden inside me. I must learn to lay down my life in order to grow. Here is the secret. I can plant God’s Word in my heart. Many other variables can add to the developmental process but the foundational truth I must live by is that God always makes us grow. Too many times we attribute faith and spiritual growth to what we do when we are just a variable in the process. God is our constant. It is His Word that changes us from broken to beautiful. It is the investment that He made in our hearts during creation that is the game changer. Jesus died to set me free from the bondage of sin so that I can die to self with purpose and become a part of His Kingdom. I have Kingdom potential inside my heart that the Lord desperately is trying to release. It is personal. It is individual. It cannot add anything to the Kingdom until first God grows it in me. I must become the nonperishable seed through living and enduring in and through the Word of God, His Spirit and by faith in the process of cultivation that I am steady undergoing when I choose to seek Him wholeheartedly.

I used to think science projects would be the death of me. When you have three kids in four years, it is inevitable to become overwhelmed. When that just was not excitement, two more were added to the mix. There were days that I thought I would spend my entire life in the parent pickup line. Homework was never ending. I was always taking care of someone or doing something. Now we only have two little birds in our nest, one will graduate from high school next year and the other will be moving up to high school. The season of life that I thought would never end is slowly drawing to a close. It is easy to get lost in the role playing of life. People where so many different hats with a variety of responsibility – it is no wonder that the seeds of promise get lost in busy, overwhelmed, overwrought, and overloaded hearts filled with worry, stress and anxiety. Today the Lord is whispering to us – to let Him cultivate our life so we can thrive again. I must give my heart to the Lord along with everything and everyone in it for His Careful Inspection. He has given me promises and filled me with potential that alone I will never discover. They are impossible without Jesus Christ. By surrendering my life again, I can have all the possibilities of a Constant God with Unfailing Love. Every season of our life has fruitful potential. It is in Christ alone we find it.

Psalm 126:3-6 (NIV) The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.

Depth Perception

Depth Perception

I John 2:26-28 (NLT) I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

Who’s right? In world with a wide range of religions and opinions, how do I know that the God I serve is the one true God? How do I know that Jesus Christ is the only way? What a person believes dictates how they live? They can say anything they like freely but it is in our behavior, attitude and actions that our true colors shine through. Jeremiah 13:23 asks “can an Ethiopian change the color of his skin? Can a leopard take away its spots?” What is he saying? No they cannot and “neither can you start doing good, for you have always done evil.”  Oh please don’t be offended. I am in no way implying that you or yours are evil. I am just examining my own heart for relevance today. My life has physical implications. However, unless I develop an understanding of the spiritual implications that impact my life, I can do nothing of importance or significance for the Lord.

As believers, we are given God’s Holy Spirit to live in us and promote spiritual understanding that becomes knowledge and once applied the wisdom that guides our life in righteousness. How we see the world is reflected by one’s depth perception in life. Do we see things only in the natural? Have we dared to peer into our physical state? Do we long for the eyes of our heart to be opened? Light that shines in the darkness reveals the secrets hidden there. Once a lie is exposed to truth it can no longer be entertained as anything else. So we tiptoe as far across the line of fear into faith possible while still maintaining our ignorance and naivety when God has given us the ability to see well beyond the natural into the supernatural realm.

Ephesians 1:7-9 (NLT) He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan.

God in His Rich and Loving Kindness maximized by His Grace purchased our freedom with the Blood of His Son Jesus. He forgave our sins – past, present and future – in that moment. How? God is omnipresent meaning everywhere at once, omniscient meaning He knows everything and His Omnipotent meaning all powerful. It is in His Absolute Sovereignty as God alone that He is able to determine the Sacrifice of Christ acceptable and apply it to our life. He bestowed this gift to humanity. Limited in perception beyond what the five senses, the Lord is determined to connect with us. He not only showered us in loving kindness but gave us ALL wisdom and understanding. God revealed His Mysterious Plan to us. No He didn’t? Yes, He did!

We have the Holy Spirit. He is our guide. He is our teacher. He is significant in establishing depth perception in life that sees beyond the natural to embrace the supernatural. His Understanding reaches past the physical things to take hold of spiritual confidence. We are told to walk by faith and not by sight in a world that defines seeing as believing. Lord help us. Open our eyes to Your Glory, God.

Depth perception is the ability to perceive spatial relationships. It is the ability to determine the potions of objects in association with one another. This is heavily influenced by the development of the human brain and how it sees distance etc. It is also decided by experience. If an animal is exposed to a glass floor, it struggles to walk on it because it challenges their depth perception. If a person who is afraid of heights is given the opportunity to cross the same floor, they may be unable to do so because fear cannot see the floor just the distance between their feet and the ground. The distance between mankind and God is not as far as we think. In fact, it is not far at all because Jesus Christ lives inside of us. He has given us His Spirit to open our spiritual eyes, increase supernatural understanding, and prosper us from the inside out. However, human logic often talks us out of faith. Natural understanding defies the existence of God to the extent of its intelligence. It is because of ignorance that God’s People perish every day many thinking that they know a God that they have yet to see.

John 9:1-5 (NLT) As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Jesus is the Light of the world. Light is the very thing that allows the eye to see. Without light, there is no sight. Light has a complex interaction with our eyes and brain that illuminate our world. Light reaches the eye and signals are sent to our brain. Our brain deciphers the information in order to detect appearance, location and movement of objects. When considering Jesus in such context, He is spiritual light. He shines brightly inside of us shedding light on our heart and soul giving us an opportunity to apply His Love, Grace and Power to all aspects of our natural life.

When Jesus saw the man blind from birth, the man was not crying out to the Lord. He was just sitting there. The disciples asked Jesus, “Why was this man born blind?” We are all born blind due to sin. We have the opportunity to have our eyes opened if we are willing to believe. The Lord used this man as an example. Note the reason that Jesus gave them, “This happened so the Power of God could be seen in him.” Well then… God will use whatever means possible to open the eyes of our mind, and the recesses of our heart, so the Light of His Love can expose anything that is keeping us from God’s Very Best.

A miracle happened that day. Now one might think this would be a happy ending to a life of disappointment. You know everyone would celebrate wildly and declare Jesus as Lord. Not exactly. One man’s healing sent a spiritual wave moving through the synagogue that day. The man’s friends questioned his miracle. Some discredited it as a mistake and that this was not the man they knew. They couldn’t comprehend such a miracle. It made its way to his parents who are called before the Pharisees. They agree that they have no idea what happened. They tell the religious leaders to ask their son essentially telling them to leave them alone. This miracle was quickly becoming their misfortune as their religion was now compromised. The Pharisees asked the man over and over again who repeated the same story. The man was ultimately thrown out of the synagogue.

Jesus met the man just outside of religion and other relationships. He asked the man, “Do you believe in the Son of God? The man answered the Lord, “I want to believe in him.” The man accepted Jesus in that moment. I believe that this occurs regularly in the modern day church when the miraculous overtakes our natural understanding. When Knowledge of God becomes too incredible to accept and His Doing too much to absorb, do we discredit the Lord among people unknowingly. The Lord is doing more than we can ask or think. We must think differently to make revival a reality or miracles will be dismissed by mindsets.

I Corinthians 2:13-15 (NLT) When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.

We must gain depth perception in Jesus Christ. We must understand the spiritual implications in our life. The Light of His Love shows us the areas of our life that are working with God’s Plan and sabotaging it as well. It is through knowledge and understanding that the opportunity for true wisdom to arise. The rippling effect of the blind man’s healing that day is no different than that which occurs in the modern day church every day. God moves and does the miraculous which is quickly shutdown. We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony. Is anyone talking about the Blood? Where are all the testimonies?

Growing up Southern Baptist, I was inundated with the Word of God, scripture memorization and constant Bible study. However, the Holy Spirit was assigned the title of silent partner and the Book of Acts kept safely shut. It was quite frustrating to spend all that time in God’s Word but remaining powerless in life. Like a tiny boat tossed in a raging storm, my faith was weak and hope nearly gone. When I became filled with the Holy Spirit almost twenty years ago, something changed in me. Suddenly the Word of God began to make sense and became instantly applicable to my life. The more I read the more I wanted to know. The more I prayed the more I listened for His Voice. My life in Christ came together when His Spirit and His Truth began to commune in my life. All word and no Spirit sets up rules and regulations unattainable because there is no evidence of grace other than implied. All Spirit and no word is a highly emotional relationship status that will not be consistent or fulfilling because it lacks promise. The Word is the promises God keeps. We must live with a healthy balance of both to know and understand what the Lord would like to do in us and for us.

Colossians 2:7-9 (NLT) Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.  For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.

If our spiritual life has no depth and is not applicable to our natural life, miracles can happen in us, through us and around us that will go unnoticed. Explained away by chance, fate or misperception and we will miss the fullness of God living in us working its way out of us. Religion must give way to an intimate relationship taking God’s Word applying it to our life liberally and allowing His Spirit to have the freedom to work it through our life unrestricted. Our life cannot be supernaturally inclined without Spirit and Truth. Our life will not worship God without these two key ingredients either. Our perception of God must gain depth in our soul. Roots must grow in us connecting our heart and mind with Christ and His Kingdom rather than trying to make our life in Christ purely natural. If you do what the Word of God says, your life will prosper naturally. If you allow His Spirit to move you along there will be blessing apparent in your life as well. But if what we desire is the truly miraculous when all impossibilities become possible in Christ, we must gain depth perception that allows us to walk by faith and not sight. It will free us from human thinking and release us from bondage to empty philosophies as the Fullness of His Love reaches the inner most hidden places of our heart.

Philippians 1:9-10 (NLT) I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.

Lord, give us greater depth perception of Your Love today. Life our tired hands to praise You and all wonderful things you are doing that we cannot comprehend but hold fast to in the Word. Strengthen our weak knees by Your Grace to stand in faith guarding our hearts and mind until You make it come to pass. Lord, may your Spirit mark out a straight path for my feet so I will not walk lame or limping again. Give me the courage to walk boldly in the Light of Your Amazing Love. To know You more and make You know throughout my realm of influence today Lord. Let me press harder to know how wide, long, high and deep that Your Love truly is. Let me see my life as You see it, live as You designed it and be fulfilled. Open the eyes of my heart Lord that I may live according to Your Word and Your Spirit. I give you the Glory for taking me deeper Jesus.

I John 5:20-21 (NLT) And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

Rushing Water

Rushing Water

Revelation 19:6-9 (NIV) Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.) Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

What will Heaven be like? Do you ever wonder? Will it be like a great reunion? Will it be a big and vast open space? Will there really be streets of gold and mansions all around or is that just a way to entice people? Will it just be Jesus sitting on a throne surrounded in light? Will it be all these things? Our church hosted a worship night. A time of worshipping the Lord without a real order of service or programmed agenda. Just a time of moving a little bit closer to Jesus as far as each individual was willing to travel. Whenever I am in such a service, I find my thoughts wondering. Lord is this what it will be like forever with you. A place where time stands still. Time passes swiftly but seems like only a moment. Flowed with peace. Overcome with joy. Every burden lifted. Yet, we are still here. Once it is over, we walk out the doors into a cold and dark world filled with challenges, temptations, trouble and tragedy. We want Heaven. The more it is tested our taste is refined. The world is no longer satisfying and does not bring contentment only a greater thirst to find one moment or two to bask in the Light of His Love and be filled to overflowing again.

I was looking for the word “Hallelujah” today. It is the word that connects us to the Lord by accepting His Sovereign Power, submitting to His Supreme Purpose and surrendering to His Perfect Will. I find that it reminds me I am not in control of my circumstances, but praise God, no one else is either. I live under the divine authority and complete control of Jesus Christ so that no matter what weapon is formed against me – I will prosper – Hallelujah! Greater is He who is in me than He that is in the world – Hallelujah! I am blessed beyond any curse and His Promise will endure – Hallelujah! Hallelujah is a lot like “amen”. It is the acceptance of God’s Will and commitment to His Plan but submission of our life to His Authority. It is the highest praise. It is translated many ways such as praise the Lord and thanks be to God. Hallelujah is the sound of Heaven as men and women gather together in one accord to worship the Lord in all of His Holiness.

“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting…” The Kingdom of God is not quiet in its celebration of the Lord so why are we? I wonder sometimes if the “order” indicated in the early church has somehow been mistranslated and traditionally handed down.  The sound of Heaven is loud. It is exuberant. It is committed to a kind of worship that connects with Jesus. There will be no sideline worshippers in Heaven on those who choose Spirit and Truth as a way of surrendering to the Lord completely. I believe that how we worship in this place is the ultimate audition for our entrance into Eternity. Will we be ready and able to worship the Lord as indicated in Revelation? Will our response be Hallelujah? Will our worship be radical enough to join others.

John 4:10 (NIV) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

Jesus told the woman at the well, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you Living Water.” We must receive Living Water from Jesus to produce it in our life. Jesus went on to share with her that whoever drinks the water He gives will never thirst. They will be satisfied. Are you satisfied today? Have you asked the Lord to fill you with Living Water? The water that Jesus gives us will be like a spring of water welling up to eternal life. When God created the earth, He did not make rain at that time. No, the world was watered from within. You were not created to be “watered” or sustained by the things of this world but to be solely dependent on the Living Water inside of you.

In John 4:23-24 (NIV), Jesus tells the woman how we should worship. We must worship the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. These are two vital commodities to successful entrance to the Kingdom of God because these are the ingredients of worship that cannot be avoided or ignored. The very attributes that change praise into worship. Do you have the spirit? I am not asking about manifestations of the Holy Spirit such as speaking in other tongues. This is God’s Power flowing out of you. It will not happen without the Fruit of His Spirit cultivated in us. Do you worship the Lord in Spirit? Relying on His Guidance and His Direction. Coming to Him with our weakness. Conversing with Him in crisis. He is our Helper. He was sent to teach us to move deeper in our faith and hold on to hope. The Word of God is truth. Jesus is the Word wrapped in flesh, therefore, He is Truth. Worship cannot be produced without a connection to Christ and His Word. When God speaks – He speaks His Word. It is definitive. He cannot and will not contradict Himself. Jesus died and as raised again so that God’s Word could be active in our life again apart from sin. This is true perfection achieved in His Love and by His Grace which is the reason that we can move from praising God to worshipping Him successfully.

John 7:38-39 (NIV) Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Our commitment to know the Spirit and Truth applying it to our daily lives begins to produce change in us. It is a stirring deep within. Whoever believes in Jesus will start to feel rivers of life surging in their belly looking for a way out. Flowing to find a source greater than its own content. An ocean to connect with. More water to feed its flow and increase the current. The rivers of living water that Jesus promised are directly connected to His Spirit. As we begin to allow Living Water to make its way through us, it begins to create a need for greater sustenance. It is power rushing through us ready to explode like a geyser in our soul. This is worship getting ready to be expressed. Not just any worship, but the kind that blesses God’s Heart.

When Jesus was glorified, it marked God’s Acceptance of His Sacrifice. This is the very thing that allowed His Spirit to be released to help us and live in us. It was the moment that our praise turned to worship making it significant to God and worthy of His Kingdom. It’s not any sound that my head tells my mouth to produce. It is the Lord’s Spirit rising out of my belly, rushing through my heart, making its way out of my mouth that connects to His Kingdom entering the very Presence of the Living God. I want to live there. I don’t ever want to leave that place.

Psalm 42:7-8 (NIV) Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.

I wonder if it is possible to truly worship God and not surrender or submit to Him. I only say that because His Will is perfect and His Word is true. His Power is Sovereign. He does not waver or change His Mind. When deep calls to deep it is in the roar of His Waterfalls. God’s Love for us is unfailing and unrelenting too. A waterfall’s current becomes inescapable the closer you get. It sucks you in and pulls you over the edge. Maybe that is why worship is scaring to people so they only persist in praising God for what He has done rather than totally trusting and surrendering to worship Him.

God’s Love is sweeping over you today. It is live waves urging us deeper as the current goes out. He directs us with His Love. At night, He sings over us a love song. I wonder if it is like the sound of the ocean when staying in a beachside villa. Opening the doors, the breeze blows over you and the sound of the waves on the surf woo you into peaceful sleep. The Love of God is as unfathomable as the depth of the deepest sea. It feels dangerous and overwhelming sometimes. But those who trust the Lord will make the connection that is vital to move us from here and not to forever with Jesus. Worship is essential. It is our key.

Psalm 63:1-5 (NIV) You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

“Like the roar of rushing waters…” Heaven sounds like rushing water. Of course, it does. When the Living Water flowing in us connects with the Rushing Water flowing from His Throne, worship bursts forth like water through a dam. I cannot live in Heaven…yet. However, there is an opportunity among believers to worship in Spirit and Truth right now. Right here. To experience such a Presence of God that His Satisfaction will satisfy our dry and thirsty soul. Reaching all the dry and dead things with Resurrection Power. He is ready to revive us again but are we thirsty enough to seek Him in such a way. To surrender to His Overflow in our life and be watered from the inside out. It is our opportunity to connect with Jesus and bring Heaven to earth but we miss it week after week, day after day and moment to moment ignoring the deep crying out to deep within us. My connection to Christ fills me. United with likeminded believers creates the opportunity to increase the flow. Those who thirst for more will continue to press in until Living Water flows from the church again. It is a must. It is the sound of Heaven beginning in each belly and filling the world. Worship moves us closer. Takes us deeper. It changes us so we can encounter Him more. Am I doing my part? Are you doing yours? Lord I want to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Lord, may living water make it from my belly and wash over my world. My worship matters. Our worship matters. It connects us together forming His Bride. I want to go deeper. I want to know you more. I want to worship like they do in Heaven right here on the earth.

Psalm 42:1-2 (NIV) As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

No Surprise

No Surprises

Proverbs 13:19-21 (NIV)

A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil. Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things.

My family loves to surprise and trick other people. Yet, they hate to be surprised or tricked themselves. Our middle daughter is constantly stalked by the others because she cannot help but jump out of her skin when caught off guard. It all begins in good fun and then turns quickly into an argument amongst them. I don’t like to be surprised. After almost two decades of being the primary adult when it comes to such things, as my husband is just as bad as our children when it comes to this, I am generally not lead astray by their comradery any more. In fact, I don’t believe them most of the time due to the constant antics. If the house is too quiet or something seems off, I know that I am about to be shanghaied by somebody hiding in the dark or behind a door. The girls are just as bad as the guys. Yet, in that moment, when my feet hit the ground and I catch my breath after being scared yet again, the laughter is well worth it. Today is April Fools Day and so I must remain on high alert. They are going to come after me, I know it. So I must be ready as I am quite sure they have plenty of tricks up their sleeves.

April Fools Day is set aside for harmless pranks and practical jokes. It is a day filled with hoaxes meant to surprise and trick those around us. A fool is considered to be someone who lacks judgement or good sense. It is one who is considered to be silly or stupid. My maternal grandmother considered it the highest insult you could give a person. If you called someone a fool even in jest, she would immediately rebuke us threatening to wash our mouth out with soap. No joke. Although today is all meant for good old-fashioned fun, I am thinking we can learn something in the midst of all its banter. There is a saying, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Today as I think about the wisdom that I have been given in Christ my Lord, it is with careful consideration of all the times I am fooled, tricked and surprised by the enemy. I should know better. Yet, when I am presented a lie. I gladly take it over the Truth that I have been given and hold so dear. If the enemy surprises me, suddenly I question or maybe even doubt God’s Word to me and all the other times the Lord has silenced him in my life. Today, I will attempt to walk lightly and carefully through this day to not be caught off guard by all the jokers in my life.

To walk by faith and not by sight is a tough one… at least it is for me. I am a very visual person. Words become images in my head quickly so I must be very careful what I listen to or more importantly who I listen to. I am to walk by faith. I am to live by what I know about God not what I am presented as truth in this world. Today, I will live by knowledge and wisdom gained by personal experience. I have survived many days living in this family. If I fall for their tricks today, it is my own fault. I know them. I know better. It is the same with our life in Jesus Christ. As believers, we are warned about the enemy who lies in wait and the world in which we live. It is when we take this knowledge and apply it to our life that it becomes wisdom. Wisdom is truly one’s salvation to live by faith and not by sight. Naivety is a lack of knowledge that makes us victim to the plots and schemes of the enemy. To think that God’s Word does not apply to us is folly. To think the enemy has no desire to sift us like wheat is a lack of knowledge that will lead to our death. We must live giving our full attention to obtaining knowledge that can be turned into godly wisdom to feed our faith and nourish our soul.

Proverbs 10:22-24 (NIV)

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it. A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom. What the wicked dread will overtake them; what the righteous desire will be granted.

God desires to bless us. He decided to do so before we were created. He recorded each one meticulously concerning us. It is not something that He thinks up when we do something good or pleasing in His Sight. The Lord is not motivated by our actions or attitudes. He is not moved by our demands or mandates. There is nothing that a human being can do that God needs us to do. It is written in black and white with no shades of gray to be found. This means that if I follow Christ and walk His Way that I will be blessed without painful toil. Religion tells us to work harder and do better. Our relationship with Jesus Christ says, “Come closer and let me take that from you.” It is the wisdom from the Word of God applied to our life that opens the windows of Heaven allowing His Blessing and Favor to come pouring out. Sometimes when I pile groceries in the back of my car, they will shift in transport. As I begin to open the trunk, I realize that there is something leaning against the door and if I do not push it back everything tumbles onto the garage floor. This is how it is with God’s Blessing. Stockpiled in Heaven pressing against every opening and orifice of our life just waiting for us to open the door by faith to everything that the Lord has promised.

There is nothing a person can “do” to bring Heaven to earth other than open the door with the keys to His Kingdom that Jesus handed to us after He conquered hell, death and the grave. Those keys are marked, “faith, hope and love.” Everything we need, want and desire our bound by these three things. They are wisdom to our life once applied will release the contents of His Kingdom making the ordinary life extraordinary and the impossible completely possible. I do not reward my children for good grades. I know that many do. As long as they work hard and do their best, they live a very blessed life. I do not hold them all to the same standard. Some excel in school while others excel in other areas. They are good kids. God’s Reward in our life is not created by our willingness to serve and obey Him. The Blessing of the Lord already exists. We can live in it rather than be surprised by it. Those who find pleasure in foolishness and who decide that grace is for later and not right now, will be frustrated in their pursuit of the Blessing of God secured in Heaven for them. God does not bless us for what we do. His Blessings are already there. We decide whether we want them or not by our response to His Word, Will and Way. It’s up to us.

I John 3:12-14 (NIV)

Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

There are illustrations in the Word of God that guide us in the acquisition of God’s Blessing and Favor in our life that bear noting today. The brothers – Cain, Abel, Esau and Jacob – are representative of two members of the same household with different agendas and plans. First there is Cain and Abel, who were the sons of Adam and Eve, both knew God. How do I know? They both presented offerings to the Lord. Abel gave his best. Cain gave only what was required. He gave less than his best. Adam and Even loved both of their sons. Raised side-by-side growing into adulthood, they observed the same examples. Abel’s knowledge and experience would grow beyond knowledge becoming wisdom as his religion became a relationship with the Lord. But Cain did not take the knowledge given allowing it to become wisdom that changes our heart from relentless sovereignty of God making Him fearful to be captivated by His Love. Where there is no love hatred takes root. This happens when the Body of Christ compares their blessing to another brother or sister in Christ. When they feel insignificant due to ignorance as to their birthright. We all have the opportunity to become Sons and Daughters of God. Some don’t make it through the adoption process because they die in comparison. It produces fear that eats away at our faith. It is the insecurity that forms a breath in our hope that doubts our Father’s Love because of the commitment, obedience and sacrifice of another. It is a pride issue that must be severely dealt with.

Hebrews 12:15-17 (NIV)

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.  See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.

God’s Grace allows me to claim my birthright and inheritance stored in His Kingdom. I do not have to fight another for it or do anything other than attach my faith to the doorway and pull. Fools give up their birthright for a single meal. When we look at the details in our life, it is important to note the deal breakers and faith wreckers. We all have them but not everyone is wise or attentive enough to decipher the significance of the moment of choice. See Esau would have inherited it all. Everything would be his property. He would have absolute authority in his household. His natural hunger ate up his spiritual reward. He gave up his birthright for a single meal. What is that thing you are not willing to give up for the Kingdom? It is all tied back to faith, hope and love living in total submission radically following Jesus who leads us to all things. If fear, anxiety, worry or stress are present in your life it arises from a lack of satisfaction, contentment and completion in the Lord. To avoid the pitfall of forsaking all that Christ died for you to have, it is important to note these foolish follies and apply faith, hope and love in strong doses.

Esau not only gave up his birthright, he would go on to lose his father’s blessing as well. Jacob deceitfully took it from him while he obeyed his father’s wishes. Isaac sent him to the field to find game for his meal. Rebekah encouraged her son, Jacob, to impersonate Esau and gain his blessing from Isaac. He did. When Esau returned discovering he had been taken advantage of again, he begged his father to bless him. Because of this, Esau would rebel against his father. We must not allow the enemy to take our birthright or steal our blessing from us. We must be alert and aware that the enemy has come to steal, kill and destroy God’s Children and he is relentless. He knows no mercy and has no love. He is ruthless in his tactics and skillful in deception. He knows no bounds. Even in our churches, he prowls around seeking who he may devour and its working. We are Children of God. We have a birthright sealed by the Blood of Jesus. It belongs to us. It cannot be taken but we can give it up. We are blessed by God. It is ordained and written into God’s Plan for our life. This is sealed by God’s Grace that delivers even though sin deceived us. The enemy cannot take our blessings but we can carelessly discard them. I don’t want to be foolish. I do not want to be ignorant. I claim my birthright today. I claim my blessings in the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-10 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

A while back, one of my adult children made a mistake. It led to consequences. As parents, we love these kids no matter what so we came to this child’s aid immediately. The next day, we sat down to talk about what happened. Obviously embarrassed and ashamed. I immediately expressed our love and lack of condemnation. Come on parents, we are not perfect and made many of the same mistakes if not worse ourselves. The regret, guilt and remorse was evident. I had prayed the Lord would give me wisdom for this situation before this conversation came to pass and He did. How could this happen? The enemy works overtime to trick us, lay traps for us, and detour us any way that he can. This is what the Lord laid on my heart in that moment and I believe applies today. If we do not take the knowledge and experience obtained in our mistakes and turn them into wisdom, we are a fool. To do so turns tragedy into triumph as we overcome the enemy and regain our right standing through repentance. It is in repetition that rebellion takes root. The Lord’s Grace is sufficient for every fault and failure that I have. God has given me the opportunity to be His Child anyway. Unlike the Old Testament brothers, no one can kill me, take my birthright or have my blessing. How do I maintain it?

Trust in the Lord with ALL my heart. Do NOT lean on my own understanding that is flawed from the start. In ALL my ways SUBMIT to the Father. He WILL make my paths straight. Do NOT think I am wise in own eyes. Fear the Lord. It is the beginning of knowledge that will save our life and bless us in the midst of it. By choosing to shun evil, even if we have been the victim of it, the believer is able to walk in right standing with God and obtain every spiritual blessing secured by our birth right bound by His Spirit and far from the reach of the enemy. Don’t be a fool. Be alert and ready. It is our ability to walk by faith in hope and love that allows us to remain in alignment with the provisions and blessings of God prescribed, preordained and presented in this life.

I Peter 5:7-9 (NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

It would be foolish for me to think that my husband and kids will not try to pull one over on me today. It happens all the time. My experience tells me it is coming. I must be alert at all times or I will be their victim. There is absolutely the possibility I will fall for one of their tricks. That’s okay. It happens all the time, too. However, the stakes are much higher when the enemy sets his sight on sifting us. He plays for keeps. Like a roaring lion behind a cage, it is foolish to think one might walk in the cave and not be overtaken. Only a fool would take that chance. Yet every day believers skirt along the edge of darkness, dip their toes in pools of sin, and follow the crowd’s folly, yet wonder why they have been duped again. Compromise and complacency bed comfort zones of death where our substitutions for submission pad our grave. It’s true. We become foolish thinking we are wise. Grace is not an excuse it is an escape from death to life. I challenge you today to stand guard. Be alert. Resist the urge to give in or give up. Take a stand. The higher the watchtower the more evident the enemy. God has given you a birthright. He has given you His Blessing. He gave up His Only Heir so we could have eternal life. God is all in. Are you? Am I? As a believer, I have no excuse. Living under God’s Standard is not my calling. Filthy rags are not my raiment. The crumbs under His Table were never for me. The Lord has given me everything. He has given me His Best. I would be a fool not to take it. I must not be taken unaware or by surprise. I have the Mind of Christ. His Spirit lives in me. I have all that I need to live up to Christ Standard with all of Heaven being mine.

Proverbs 17:24 (NIV)

A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.

To Experience

To Experience

I Corinthians 2:9-12 (NKJV)

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

Albert Einstein said, “The only source of knowledge is experience.” I tend to agree with this brilliant man. He obviously had intelligence deeper than the natural scientific and mathematical ability the world knew him for. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, French philosopher and Jesuit priest said, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Experience is the knowledge or practical wisdom gained from what one has observed, encountered or undergone. We must live to have experiences. The philosophical realm defines experience as the totality of the cognitions given by perception; all that is perceived, understood and remembered. What we perceive must be understood, and what we understand must be remembered to become knowledge that will be the wisdom exercised in life. Deep waters today. Deep, deep wells of understanding as the Lord invites us to see our life through His Eyes and hear His Word as spoken not from His Mouth but rather His Heart. God reveals His Word to us and His Spirit helps us discern what the Lord is saying and how to experience His Love. I Corinthians 2:16 tell us that we as believers have been given the Mind of Christ. Without experience, it will never make any sense.

When I first met my husband, he immediately grabbed my attention. The more the thought of him captivated my thoughts and encircled my mind, I knew that I had to know him. I told a friend that I was going to marry this guy who was a stranger to me. She laughed it off completely saying, “No you’re not!” Logically, I did not even know anything about him. But deep down inside, I just knew that there was more to him that I needed to discover. After a few dates and a conversation that could have been about anything, but instead turned to our love and desire for meaningful relationships with God, that my heart was forever bound to this man. Though only human, he answered the call in my heart to return to the Lord, love the Lord and live for Him. It has been almost two decades since that moment of revelation. I have experienced the potential come to life as I have partnered, parented and passionately loved this man. It began with a thought. A whim. A butterfly in the pit of my stomach. It became a commitment that would be tested by fire, and tried many times. What do I have now? Experience that makes my perception true knowledge. I know that my husband loves me. I trust him completely. This process of experience is not limited to natural life but begins in our spiritual life. I like what de Chardin said, “We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” If we could only tap in to the fact that we are spiritual by birth and live that way. What a difference it would make! When our life becomes more than two dates on a headstone, it is then that we discover how to live and love.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” What a wonderful promise with great potential! We cannot even begin to fathom the capacity of God’s Love for us. (Ephesians 3:18-19) His Love causes Him to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20) All of this is according to His Power at work in us. I think this is where we lose it sometimes. We want to know this love that is unfathomable. We want to experience those things that are exceedingly abundant, but we cannot because our knowledge never becomes experience.

Isaiah 55:8-11 (NKJV)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My Ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than your ways, and My Thoughts than your thoughts.  “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goes forth from My Mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

God does not lie or change His Mind. Do you believe that today? No. Do you really believe that today? Like with all your heart and mind. Our actions betray us. If we really did believe that the Word of God was 100% true, then we would do what it said completely and implicitly. There would be no room for compromise. If I told you that I was giving you a brand new car, it would take four weeks to arrive from the maker. If you believed me, you would wait for it. If not, you would go to Clyde’s Auto to buy a clunker at a super high interest rate which would breakdown on your way out of the lot. When it did, you could not blame me for your misfortune just because you didn’t want to wait on the new car to arrive. Perhaps, you desire a husband or wife. Do you really think that God’s Best is going to approach you as long as you are holding hands and exchanging glances with Mr. Wrong and Miss So-So. The constancy and commitment of God’s Word is not based on who we are or what we do. It is based on Who He is and what He will never do. God will never lie or change His Mind. He has a perfect plan for your life. Freedom allows for His Permissible Will offered by His Grace and Mercy. The one chosen is completely up to you and me.

My Thoughts are not your thoughts…God is whispering this to us today. My Ways are higher than your ways. We must listen to His Voice and commit this thought to our mind for careful consideration until it becomes knowledge that will become our experience. I have known the Lord for many, many years. It has been 38 years since I asked Jesus to be my Savior. It would take several attempts and many, many years for Him to become my Lord. The Word of God invites us to taste and see that the Lord is good. This is where what we think can become a reality in our spiritual live resulting in supernatural outcomes that have encircled us all along.

James 1:22-25 (NKJV)

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Jesus told the woman at the well, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth.” What did the Lord mean “Spirit and Truth”? Jesus died and went away so that His Spirit could move from outside and around us to inside of us instilling all of His Power and Ability into us. Truth is the Word of God that helps us change our mind about the Lord using His Word to bring down every stronghold rising up against the Lord’s Power and Authority in our life. (Hebrews 4:11-13) It is diligence is following His Spirit and knowing God’s Word that fortifies our mind allowing us to test the Lord. Yes, test Him. Try Him. Believe by faith. Wait for the answer. Rejoice when it comes because with it comes experience. Now what you believe is credible, so you will do it again. Not only will you do it again, but like an awesome product, great movie, good restaurant or amazing deal – you will have something to share with others.

In church as the Spirit of God stirs us, we begin to see our life through God’s Eyes if only a glimpse. We take that image and leave to be pounded by the world as the enemy pounces to destroy that tiny seed of faith planted in our heart. He seethes at us until fear takes us over and doubt clouds our judgment. It is in that moment, we forget the person and plan that we found in God’s Presence. The secret to living a successful life as a believer is to take that godly knowledge and allow His Spirit to turn into wisdom which is applied knowledge. This will create meaningful and mind blowing experiences with God that will far exceed anything you could have ever done with the hours, days, months and years that comprise this life. You were created with Eternity in your heart. You are a spiritual being, a Child of the Living God who can have His Kingdom come and invade your life now, today, and this very moment. You were made for such a time as this. His Word for your life circles round about you. He will not relent from giving you His Best. The rest, my friend, is up to us. To live in the Presence of God moment by moment allows us to live in His Perception according to His Perspective.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NKJV)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

My husband and I are very human beings. There are days when we wake up with bad attitudes and do things that are really just too petty to report. It is on those days that we rely on what we know about the other person, not the activities of the day. I know from experience that when the dust settles – apologies will be exchanged. I am absolutely convinced of his love for me and he feels the same. It is our spiritual connection as evidenced by our covenant to each other before the Living God that makes the difference in our marriage. I warn people all the time – marriage is impossible outside of God’s Love. I cannot emphasize this enough. Two people sharing life sounds like a fairytale – humans have painted this image in our head from childhood. But the reality is meshing of two lives into one is messy.

If we ever were truly convinced that God loves us more than anyone else, it would change our life forever. Why? Because we would begin to think like Him. We would have peaceful satisfaction abandoning self-seeking, selfish, and self-destructive ways. We live by faith and confident hope that yielded results rather than more questions. It would mean that when we called on the Lord, we would hear His Voice rather than talking over Him all of the time. It would mean that when we prayed – His Presence would meet us right where we are. Seeking Him would also result in finding right where He is. All of this comes to those who seek the Lord with their whole heart. Giving their entire life just to know Him more.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 (NKJV)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Though we walk in the flesh, we do not have to live there. We have been given the privilege of higher learning and greater knowledge to know God’s Love and live in it. Will we? It begins by pulling down every stronghold that our mind has built up and fortified to experience God’s Love that comes from knowing Him and following Him each day. I am made of flesh, but I am a spiritual being. The presence of a soul indicates that there is more to me than what this life has to offer. When the men purposed to get their friend to Jesus, the Lord did not mistake their true intentions. First, He told the man that his sins were forgiven. Then, he told him to, “Rise up and walk.” (Luke 5:20-25) Repentance is the starting point of godly knowledge. It is in the going and doing that it becomes wisdom that yields experience. There is no better teacher. As the Spirit leads us to do what His Word instructs, we enter the Presence of God no matter where we live, work or play. It is in this place of undeserved privilege that the depth of God’s Love is revealed. It begins with the forgiveness of sin and leads to avoiding it. Too often we forget that repentance is a daily posture not a one-time position.

Religion thrives on repentance but has problems with the supernatural and divine order of God. People kept at the altar and not empowered to go feeds the church business. The church is starving today because there is no harvest. Like begets like. Giant nurseries of crying, hungry babies are never developed and nurtured into thriving believers. Why? They draw never to God with their mouth for natural satisfaction, but hearts remain far away. Sin will always distance us from the Lord. Two very prominent pastors crossed the line in the last couple of weeks which I find devastating. If I told you their names, you would know them instantly. Embracing and tolerating sin in their churches will never allow the Spirit of God to come and change the hearts and minds of the people. It will now be up to them to feed all these babies alone and without a harvest to sustain them. The Pharisees were offended…again. Jesus asked Peter, “Are you also still without understanding?” (Matthew 15) To experience the Lord, to know Him, understand Him and follow Him, we must seek such things over all other pursuits. Without an experience, there is no knowledge. Knowledge is a commitment to seeking the Truth. His Name is Jesus.

Ephesians 1:7-12 (NKJV)

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

The Experience

The Experience

Psalm 52:8-9 (NIV)

But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love. I will praise you forever, O God, for what you have done. I will trust in your good name in the presence of your faithful people.

The Love of God – its sheer vastness is too overwhelming for humanity to fully comprehend. It takes a lifetime just to get the gist of a boundless and unfailing love. We want to believe in the Love of God. We hope that it is as true as the Word hints that it may be. Life is lived in full color. God’s Love is based on faith in a God who we cannot see and a hope that is not yet realized. What a phenomenal risk for those who choose to embark on such an adventure as to wander into the unknown and seek such a One. Living in the Bible belt called the South – there are churches on every street corner, strip mall and anywhere else one can think of. We can find God as easily as getting a bite to eat or a tank of gas. He is freely offered just about anywhere you can think of. Could it be that in the surplus of opportunity that we take Him for granted? Opportunities to encounter God and His Love are so frequently offered that He is avoided altogether. I am like an olive tree thriving in the House of God. We have many churches but where are the thriving Christians? They are waiting to discover the unfailing love worthy of trust. It is there if we will seek to find it.

Our daughter and son-in-law accepted a ministry position in New Hampshire as part of a new up and coming ministry. It has been amazing to hear of the testimonies in a mission field in our own country. Less than three percent of the New England area are in church. Mind boggling at best. We were talking about the services a couple of weeks ago and she kept calling them “experiences”. Finally, I had to ask. Why don’t you call them a service? She further explained that the pastor does not want a service. He wants people to “experience” God’s Love. Well, if that didn’t fire up the engines of my mind I as I began to think about church. As if on cue, we sang a song the very next night in the Wednesday night service that included the verse, “Let us become more aware of Your Presence, Let us experience the Glory of Your Goodness.” It hit me. We have forgotten that this whole Christianity thing is about experiencing the Love of God in our life every day. We have become an organized religion rather than faith-full people who gather together to thrive in the House of God. I want to experience the Love of God today. I want to thrive in His Presence.

Psalm 36:5-9 (NIV)

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

The capacity of God’s Love for us is limitless. We can never out love God. We cannot out do Him either. We can add nothing to His Kingdom that is not already there. We were created to experience God’s Love and decide to live in it. Our sin limited us from doing anything more. By His Grace, we are saved by faith in the fact that His Love will never fail us. We are powerless other than the Presence of God that is our strength. God’s Love is as vast as the Heavens. Look at the sky, it is endless. His Faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. If you have ever been on a plane, you know behind the clouds are more sky that give way to the universe. Welcome to the parameters of God’s Faithfulness perpetuated by His Love. His Righteousness is like immovable mountains and given to us as a precious gift. His Justice is like the ocean depths reaching down to the bottom of every pit to pull us out by His Love. He cares for us. He provides for us in love. He shelters us in His Love. He feeds us not from an impoverished supply or limited source but from the abundance of His House. We are not second class citizens in the House of God but rather beloved Children who are loved without limit by their Father. He wants us to drink in delight not swallow many bitter sorrows. He is a Fountain of Life that fills us to overflowing with His Great Love if we choose to experience His Love rather than just watching from the sidelines.

John 3:16-19 (NIV)
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

God SO loved the world. He gave His Only Son. I have two sons. I could not give their lives for another. I spent one year praying and believing that God would return our oldest son safely from serving our country in the Middle East. I have spent going on four years now walking with our younger son through his battle against cancer. I can tell you that it has not changed my heart and mind. God knows I have absolutely no desire to give up either one. I cannot imagine the thought of life without them. But God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for me simply because He loved me. I forget that sometimes. If I could fully conceive that kind of love, surely I would spend all of my days seeking to experience its fullness without measure. Too often we forget why Jesus came. We do not understand or I guess believe that it was love…just love that nailed Jesus to the Cross. God’s Light came into the world, but we love the darkness more than the light. To truly accept the Love of God means to experience it. His Love is Light. It exposes that which is inside of us that prevents a closer relationship so that we can break down every barrier that keeps us from fully experiencing His Love. If we believed, truly believed that it was all about a limitless love, we would long to experience it every single day.

There’s nothing worth more that would ever come close,
No thing can compare, You’re our living Hope,
Your presence, Lord.

I’ve tasted and seen of the sweetest of loves,
When my heart becomes free and my shame is undone,
Your presence, Lord.

Holy Spirit You are welcome here,
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere.
Your glory God is what our hearts long for,
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord.

Psalm 34:8-10 (NIV)

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need.
Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.

I have a horrible sweet tooth. Candy is a downfall at times. Easter is the worst season for such things as I love jelly beans. I made it through this season and bought only enough of them to fill our daughter’s blessing bags. (Spoiler Alert – we do not do the whole bunny thing.) Well, the girls have broken out the jelly beans. It started with “Hey mom, try the purple one.” Then it was a handful until finally I ate way more jelly beans than I should have which sent me to bed with a hurting stomach. I have sworn off the candy again.

There is something about sugar that will produces a craving in us. One bite won’t do it and once you get it in your system the urge becomes stronger. It’s scientific I promise. Now when you stop eating sugar in a short amount of time, you will crash. Metabolically when the sugar level that was elevated too high metabolizes it drops you like a hot potato. The Love of God is sweet. It is the sweetest of loves that I have ever known. It took me a long time to experience God’s Love like that because I was too busy trying to “do” all the right things rather than spending my time and energy getting to know His Love and living in it. God changes hearts and minds. We just have to step into His Love. The lyrics from the song, “Holy Spirit” are listed above. Have you tasted the sweetest of loves? It took a lot for me to give up on making myself right and doing all the right things to come to the Lord and ask to experience His Love firsthand. I had to hit rock bottom, run out of strength, fall on my face, and make it to the end of my rope…but when I did I discovered a love worth having in my life. I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good. His Love is real. He is faithful. Now I have something to tell others about that is credible.

Isaiah 30:18 (NIV)

So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.

Have you experienced God’s Love for you personally? One on one without anyone else’s involvement? Why in all His Glorious Power won’t God force us closer if He know His Will and Way are the best for us? Why won’t He come closer to us but rather waits on us to come to Him? I’ll tell you why. God’s Love is consuming. The closer we get the more we are changed. God will not force His Love on you because it would change you and your true intentions never known. So He waits for us to surrender our life to His Love. To come, taste and see that He is good. Then and only then can we accept these changes of our own free will. Anything would violate His Promise of freedom for the believer. You have the right to choose. Isn’t that what love really is all about choosing who to give it to? God chose to love you. He gave me His Love and all I must do is come to Him. God is offering you the experience of a lifetime. Those willing to set aside self and religion will thrive in the House of God living in His Unfailing and Amazing Love. I think those people in New Hampshire are up to something…and its good!

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

Psalm 5:12 (NIV) For you bless the godly, O Lord; You surround them with your shield of love.
